Economic Development

The major issues in the Economic Development category were unemployment (for both adults and youth), the need for more recreational facilities, and the need for community beautification programs.

Teams that are focusing on unemployment for adults plans to collaborate with local organization to create a job fair, provide job skills training, promote the GA Work Ready program, and develop a way to advertise local job opportunities. Teams focusing on unemployment for youth will be working to create a resource list of available employment opportunities and educate and motivate youth to create business plans.

Teams that are focusing on recreational facilities plan to create Park Committees to oversee parks, conduct fundraising to build new parks, build recreational centers, research and apply for grants to increase funding resources for facilities, and work with local citizens to build neighborhood playgrounds.

The teams focusing on community beautification programs plan to increase funding resources for beautification programs, promote recycling and organize an "adopt a yard" program.
