The major issues in the Health category were childhood obestiy, drug and alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, and waste management and recycling.

Teams focusing on childhood obesity plan to develop in school and after school educational and physical programming as well as community events such as trail walks where educational materials will be featured.

Teams focusing on drug and alcohol abuse also plan to develop in school and after school programming as well as partnering with local law enforcement to educate youth about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

Teams focusing on teen pregnancy plan to develop education programming about safe sex practices as well as invite teen parents to speak with other teens about the challenges of being a teen parent.

Teams focusing on waste management and recycling issues plan to educate adults about the need to maintain their septic systems for community health needs and also plan to add recycling bins to local schools.
