Safety

The major issues in the Health category were distracted/drunk driving, non-motorist safety, bullying, and domestic violence.

Safety

Teams focusing on distracted/drunk driving plan to create a S.A.D.D. program within their schools and to create a DWI (Driving with Intelligence) program to educate youth about the risks of driving while texting and drunk driving.

Teams focusing on non-motorist safety plan to work with local agencies to create literature about lake safety andwork with local government to increase safety measure for pedestrians and cyclists, including the additions of bike lanes on many roads.

Teams focusing on bullying plan to provide in school educational programming and to create an awareness raising video about bullying and to help combat bullying.

Teams focusing on providing adequate resources for victims of domestic violence plan to start after school programming for at risk youth and to make family meeting spaces better at the local DFCS.
